Cape Mount och Robertport drabbades nyligen av ett Ebola-utbrott. Ett utbrott som redan dödat många och som riskerar att sprida sig. Via lokala hälsomyndigheternas och de s k Ebola Task forces har vädjanden gått ut om stöd med mat och material för att förebyggande spridning till de platser där människor nu är i karantän.
Vi har därför omdirigerat en del av stödet vi hade kvar i Margibi County till Cape Mount och har sedan köpt mer material och mat efter nya bra gåvor. För stödet mot Ebolan i regionen Cape Mount tackar vi särskilt Erik Mitteregger, Ollas Consulting gm Kina Helles samt ett flertal andra härliga givare.
Så här sa teamet i Torsdags:
We successfully arrived in Grand Cape Mount County and offloaded late last night and was received by a representative of the County Ebola task force; we had a distribution planning section with the task force including the county Health Team to identify priority area for urgent intervention.
At the end of the section, the county was able to present to us ten quarantine communities with the total of 267 restricted families under observation that need food assistance to avoid break of camp. This figure may increase as upbreak continues.Now that formalities has been concluded, following travel between Sinje and the administrative Head Quarter of Robertsport, truck has been hired for full scale distribution beginning tomorrow.

Den sedvanliga extra utmaningen har varit problem med trucken, men det har gått att lösa med annan bil och reservdelar är på väg från Monrovia. Mer info kommer!

Var nästa projekt blir kommer bero på var behovet är störst just då – det gäller att jaga där Ebolan är – vi kan använda vår möjlighet att vara flexibla.
