Lucasu – Lofa

Bakgrund
Utbildningsfonden gjorde 2016-2017 Segisu skolan i Lukambeh-distriktet i Lofa County i nordvästra Liberia.

The Community is centrally located within the lower part of the Lucasu clan, within the newly created Lucambeh District, surrounded by several towns including Gbeilahun, Ngolahun, Bodowalahun, Baloma Boakai Morlu, Maninal and Kailahun.

The fast growing population of about 1,640 inhabitants of the Community, had Overwhelm the tiny school that was built in the 1980s, just to host beginner classes. The school has the enrollment of 362 students currently attending, while about 200 others kids are roaming in the community and not in school.  The community was compelled to have asked one of its members to host two classes in one part of his current dwelling home, thereby making the school environment very noisy and not conducive for learning. The Community has 205 houses currently.

The Community has over the years craved for a school in a designated location to accommodate all kids but lack resources to have one. The school have 7 teachers. 1 one on government payroll, while 6 are volunteers. Out of the 7 teachers 2 have Teaching certificates, 5 have High school Diplomas with in-service training. Students travels 7-8 hours just to access junior high education.

The community is engulf with inaccessibility or bard road, without Electricity, Telecommunication, save drinking water just to name a few.
